Thompson tees off with Golf Channel

Staff report
Comcast Corp. executive Page Thompson has been named president of the company's Golf Channel, filling a post that has been vacant since June. Thompson, former senior vp and GM video services at Comcast, takes over the post held by David Manougian, who was upped to CEO of the channel last year. Thompson will oversee all operations at the Golf Channel and also will focus on leveraging the network's 15-year deal with the PGA Tour to bring unique content to viewers. At Comcast, Thompson was responsible for the company's video product for its 24.2 million cable customers and is credited with building the company's VOD service. He will make the transition from Philadelphia to the Golf Channel's Orlando headquarters in May.
