Our latest arrival - a very large Jamaican boa (yellow snake) - was rescued on April 2nd.  We are seeking sponsors for the construction of a snake habitat so we can keep this animal for educational purposes.  The snake is over 8 feet (2.5 m) long and quite docile. Here is a picture of it in its temporary enclosure (a large aquarium):

Wendy and Mr. Potoo

This bird was found lying on the ground with head injuries
that have left him blind in one eye.  He was rescued and
brought to SOS-Wildlife by Tray Biasiolli and Khara Strum.
Mr. Potoo can fly but he can't hunt for moths anymore, so he
has to be hand fed and will be in permanent care at SOS-Wildlife.

Cher
39-year-old black-billed parrot
(Amazona agilis)
Purchased on the street in Montego Bay in 1965 by an expatriate family, this bird was given to the Lee family in 1970.

Simon and rescued wood snake
(Arrhyton sp.) that was rescued and released safely in the woodland at SOS-Wildlife.

No harmful chemicals are used here, so the grounds are alive with
insects and small creatures such as this lizard on a mango seedling.

Confiscated Jamaican parakeet (Aratinga nana)
about to be transferred to a large cage at SOS-Wildlife.

Blue Mahoe
- national wood of Jamaica
This young mahoe tree is part of the
native plant collection at Seven Oaks.

Lignum vitae
- national flower of Jamaica.
Several huge lignum vitae trees are at Seven Oaks.
