Techworld: May the force be with you...

Techworld is the result of two forces coming together. Publishing giant IDG was looking to launch a website for the UK enterprise computing market, little knowing that three former work colleagues - David Cartwright, Maxwell Cooter and John Dunn - were looking for a publishing partner for their idea of an online magazine for UK's techie community.

Once the two parties had come together, things took off quickly and Techworld was launched in May 2003. The site is based around a series of knowledge centres, of which Data Storage and Information Security were the first. Mobile Communications and Wireless Networking was introduced in September, followed by Operating Systems and Servers, Data & Voice Networking and Software Applications.

Techworld's rapid success in establishing itself as the website of choice for the technical community was officially recognised with its award as new business launch of the year from the UK Association of Online Publishers.

The Editors
The site is run by and both of whom have a good deal of experience of networking technology and magazines.
