Nokia Piloting N-Gage 2.0, Announces Glu Support

Nokia continued to make N-Gage 2.0 rumblings this week, ahead of its GDC presentation, where the platform is expected to be revealed in its entirety. The company announced this week that it has begun a live pilot in Finland, in conjunction with Finnish communications company Elisa.

"The core of the Nokia games strategy is to make it easy for people to find, buy and play great quality mobile games and we're excited to expand our relationship with Elisa to help make this possible," Jaakko Kaidesoja, Director, Games, Multimedia, Nokia said in a statement. "This pilot will help us further refine the N-Gage experience for our commercial launch later this year."

The pilot, which began in February and is slated to run through mid-year, is designed to "carry out intensive testing and evaluation in a live network environment."

Nokia also announced this week publisher support from Glu Mobile. The first Glu planned for the platform is World Series of Poker Texas Hold'em. Future releases were not announced, but Glu hits Super KO Boxing, Stranded, and Ancient Empires seem like likely candidates for an N-Gage release
