Antique Glass Book Cover
 Antique Glass
This antique glass book has been written by John Sandon, the well known antiques expert from the UK 'Antiques Roadshow'. It tells the story of glass, from it's discovery in ancient Egypt right through to the fascinating world of the 20th century and post-war design. The text is concise, very informative and above all readable. Over 240 carefully chosen photographs, of which the majority are in colour, show more than 500 beautiful glass items, from fine old Venetian and Art Nouveau masterpieces to quite ordinary decanters and Victorian moulded bottles. Alongside costly rarities, one of the strengths of this book is the inclusion of inexpensive novelty glass that anyone can find easily and cheaply. This book is aimed at the beginner on a modest budget as well as at established glass collectors. I consider this to be an excellent book.
