Indic Developer Challenge(IDC)
BhashaIndia invites all college students to participate in the Indic Developer Challenge and create applications and solutions in Indian Languages. The best application adjudged by our panel will win a cool Toshiba Tablet PC. 1 Smartphone each will be given away for the best applications in the following categories:
- Most innovative Indic Enabled Web application
- Best Application Documentation or Tutorial for the Submitted Application
- Best Indic Enabled Software Application
- Most Innovative Office application (using VSTO, Smart Doc,
  InfoPath application)
- The Wildcard – An application that displays excellence in any other aspect
  other than those mentioned above...

Claim to Fame contest has finally come to an end after more than two months. We would like to thank each and every one of you who took part in this contest. We had participants from varied backgrounds – students, developers and teachers. The final round that entailed development of a local language application really threw up terrific tools. So much so, our judges had a tough time selecting the winner...
Tell us your experience on - Microsoft Office 2003 Hindi
Bhavesh Parikh: Being an Insurance Agent for last 15 years, I was facing a lot of problems while communicating with my clients who are mainly either from traditional business background, Gujaratis and Marwaris or who are having their own small setups like Contractors etc. Being all my proposals and policies reminders in English, it always required quite a big effort to convince them. With help of Microsoft Office 2003 Hindi installed on my PC/Laptop, now I will be able to make them understand "really what I mean". Further, I can prepare proposals and presentations in their own Language, this can have a psychological effect of talking in native language, which will add personal touch. This will also facilitate to prepare certain templates like policy term change, policy reminder etc...
