Celebratory Pop'n Music Threads

Flazh says:

@bugbread: I thought I had a complete Bemani collection, but I don't have Bemani 3 & 4 D:

Flazh says:

@MiniMoose: It's also a Konami t-shirt, a Rhythm game t-shirt, a Japanese t-shirt...

Flazh says:

I personally love the damn game :D I'll have to grab me this shirt!

As per, the finest gaming shirts hail from Japan, and while I find Bemani games utterly insufferable, I can also tip my hat to a cute shirt design when I see one. They're in honour of the 10th anniversary of Bemani. And are adorable. Luke Plunkett Pop'n Music [Graniph Store] [Thanks Ffenix!]

Pro Evo Coin-Ops To Settle Pub Disputes

Flazh says:

Note the pint glass holders... they know their audience!

Bravo, Konami. This is a stroke of genius. Konami Digital Entertainment B.V has announced test versions of its new Pro Evolution Soccer arcade machine have been released into two locations. Based on the multi-million-selling console game, the coin-op version of Pro Evolution Soccer has been specially created yet retains the series' famed physics and gameplay. Might sound half-assed at first glance, but seed these in pubs across Britain and they'll print money. continued »

Party with Square Enix!

Flazh says:

Last Squeenix party was great :) I'm definately off to this one if not for more cool goodies like what I got before :D

It's been two years since the last Square Enix party. At the last one in 2005, the company announced Final Fantasy XII's release date. Square Enix Party 2007 should hold similar announcements, hand-ons and people in funny costumes with hair gel. Lots of hair gel. This year's event will be at Chiba's Makuhari Messe May 12th and May 13th. Admission is free.

Japanese PS3 Comes Covered In Stamps

Flazh says:

Someone in Japan is obviously just an idiot. Why not just use a standard EMS slip? It'd be insured that way too as well as probably costing a lot less...

A Swedish just received an imported PLAYSTATION 3 straight from Japan. The box it came in was COVERED in stamps. Think that someone actually licked each one? Hope not! Brian Ashcraft Original Thread [playing, Thanks Rikard!]

360-tan Translated

Flazh says:

Very good :) I'd like to see others like this actually :D

Readers that don't piss us off are the best! Take Kotakuite PAL, for example, who actually translated the Xbox 360-tan for folks who cannot read Japanese. This is like 31 flavors of coolness. Many thanks, PAL! Brian Ashcraft

PS3 Updates To 1.54

Flazh says:

Actually, this particular update means that those of us with good quality webcams will be able to use them instead of the Eyetoy! Nice :D

I wonder if it will allow other webcams to be used in the Eyetoy games though...

Those so inclined to turn on their PS3 systems this morning were greeted with instructions to update to the latest firmware version, that being 1.54, which unlocks many new magical abilities of Sony's futuristic video game box. After a little poking about, I found a list of changes over at the PlayStation.com forums. * The image of the person you are chatting with during video chat can now be changed to match the screen size.

Gaming Tattoo Gone Wrong

Flazh says:

A moment of silence please for our fallen comrade...

*smirk*

I don't feel pity towards my fellow man that often. Call me heartless. But this guy, this guy I feel for, because he paid money and submitted himself to the pain of a tattoo, and has come away with this. Looks like he drew it on himself. Drunk. In the dark. Gives you something to keep in mind next time you consider branding a gaming icon into your flesh for the rest of your life. Luke Plunkett [Thanks John!]

Digging Up Hidden Treasures At Your Local Game Store

Managed to get a mint copy of Vagrant Story for £1 the other day...

Yeah :D

Often times it's very easy to find fault with corporate owned game stores. The main complaint with these places usually seem to be their admittedly terrible trade in values and their sometimes inability to fill pre-orders. But, there is a flip side to the coin as well. It's not uncommon that you'll turn up that game you've been looking for forever at a pretty reasonable price. Or you might find a game that you got rid of a while ago and wished you hadn't. continued »
