I Beat Zelda: Twilight Princess - Thoughts From the Other Side

While everyone was busy camping out for a Wii this weekend, I was staying up and finishing Twilight Princess. Now that I've finished it, the least I can do is tell you what I thought, whether it's worth your time, and how it stacks up to previous Zelda games. No spoilers included. First, the length. I won't say exactly how many dungeons it has, but it's on par with just about all Zelda games (including old ones).

A- give this man a hug, finally one person who understands the awesomeness of this game.
Thank You Sir.

Bunch O Wii, PS3 Grades

These are not meant to be, in anyway, complete reviews of the games, just quick impressions for each. I grade games from A to F. There is no A+ or F-. As a baseline for 360 owners, I just gave Gears of War an A-. PS3 Blast Factor (C+): Retro shooter with an interesting twist, but not enough to be original. Cash Gun Chaos (C): Fun little title, probably not worth $10, but still worth playing. Dark Kingdom (D+): Role-Playing game with sub-par next-gen graphics and crappy controls.

"Um, the camera is behind you, so you can see the character, that's 3rd person. Judging from your comments, you are either

a) A child who is yet to learn the difference between 1st and 3rd person

or

b) A fanboy mindlessly bashing Gears

From what I have heard, Zelda is an amazing game, but it's only Crecente's initial impression. Maybe it picks up later and becomes great or maybe it really is an 8.8. Until I play it I wont know for sure, I'l reserve judgment for now."

I guess you can't read further down where I corrected my mistake
A) You're a jackass who can't read all other posts before posting.
or
B) You're a fanboy mindlessly bashing me for bashing a B- game at best.

Here let me clarify it for you
"lol I've played GoW, sorry my mistake, it's a TPS (I was confused because when you press L1 it goes over the shoulder camera which I thought was First Person)"

"...and the Joystiqification has begun. Alas, poor Kotaku."
I think it began when you used commenterclastic and by the by.

lol I've played GoW, sorry my mistake, it's a TPS (I was confused because when you press L1 it goes over the shoulder camera which I thought was First Person) and the story is garbage. So Zelda TP getting a B but GoW getting A- is just ridiculous.

"By the by, d-b, and not to get all commenterclastic, but are you actually contributing anything to the conversation?"
wtf does that mean? By the by? commenterclastic thats not even a word in the english language....?

"Except GoW ISN'T "another generic FPS," this is a tired, inaccurate line spouted off by people who haven't played it and are - for some inexplicable reason - pissed off that a competing console has a AAA-level title for the holidays. Throw that in with the fact that the new Zelda didn't knock the world on its ass, and you have a bunch of whiny, annoying game fans with their lil' panties in a twist.

Lol I give you an F+ on your grading abilities.

I give you an F- on your NOT BEING A RETARD ability. LOLOLOLOL!!!!"

Haha you're so funny, almost as funny as me. AAA title? Is it because the lack of the AAA on the Xbox 360 even after a year that you have to defend the only title thats considered AAA on the 360? Guess you're in the whiny bunch, annoying game fans with their lil' panties in a twist too.

"I can understand giving Zelda a not perfect score. But giving an entirely generic FPS a better score? Now that's just weird."

Praise the lord, since I think he hasn't found out that it's going to be a triology, he better be giving the next one B-. Since it's the same old gears of war.

Lol I give you an F+ on your grading abilities. GoW is a B- at best: Another FPS with aliens kicking the human race's ass. Being generic FPS doesn't make it an A- game.

Death Of The Screenshot

Screenshots, who needs 'em? Certainly not the developers of games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance or Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom. Both games got an intense grilling by message board graphics snobs when first screenshots were revealed. But seeing stills doesn't obviously tell the whole story. A producer for the latter title is loathe to release still shots at all.Honestly, I wish we could never send out screens, just video.

Miyamoto: "I Wanted Wii To Cost $100"

The suits at Business Week sat down with chief fun-gineer Shigeru Miyamoto and designer Ken'ichiro Ashida to talk about how the Wii came to be. Contained within is some very interesting insight into the design process, the philosophy, and the alternate universe "Revolution" we could have been playing this holiday. What was the previously the Wii? Well, it had a controller at one point based on a cellphone as well as a controller with a digital display device.

thats crecente ... no comment, someone needs to drop the 70s look.

Analyst: Xbox 360 To Win The Console War

Who doesn't love console market analysis from the pros? I know I do. My only wish, should I have one, is that I had an archive of all the wild and crazy (and correct) predictions doled out through the years. Sad, really. Anyway, Merril Lynch says that by 2011 we can expect that:The winner in the next-generation console battle is likely to be the Xbox 360, which is the leader in North America, the world's biggest market. Congratulations, Microsoft!

While most people believe that the Wii is a fad come next year 2007 they'll be in for a rude awakening, because it's not a fad, and the games will just be better and better for the Wii.

Pics: Wii Have Touched Down at the Atlanta Best Buy

Man, there don't look like there are a whole lotta Wii's behind that grumpy UPS man as he hands over the first box to the Atlanta Best Buy guy. At least the guy cheered up when he saw what was inside that box. Brian Crecente
