The government is to pilot shorter, more frequent assessments of children aged five to 14 in England.


Ruth Kelly says she is trying to "do the right thing for my son" in sending him to a specialist private school.
Children who fall behind in maths or English may receive one-to-one tuition to help get them back on track.
