Why It Rocked: When you have an established Alternative Sports franchise, it can be extremely tricky to come up with new facets to your gameplay. It's even harder when your series stretches the bounds of what can realistically be done by human beings, and extremely tricky when you're using the likenesses of actual athletes.

NFL Street 3 manages to accomplish all of these tasks with completely redesigned game mechanics. Not only can players go vertical to avoid tackles, but they can perform aerial moves to gain additional yardage. Plus, Gamebreakers are now user controlled, which adds a completely new level of strategy to the gameplay. Add to that five brand new game types like Playbook Elimination and Yards for Points, and you have a very deep gameplay experience. But include a completely redone career mode entitled Respect the Street where you can spot opponents points, and you've got the best alternative trash talking hard hitting sports game out there.
