Wii Comic Book Advertisement

While reading through the latest issue of Batman, Kotakuite David came across a two-page comic book style ad for the Nintendo Wii, featuring a black cat trying desperately to get the Wiimote away from the hands of his dangerously hallucinating owner before all hell breaks loose and he launches into an ad pitch.

Huh, was wondering what Aaron Carter was up to lately.

Now I know.

Amazing Nintendo Kicks

Ok, I'm right on the line with these. I love the shoes, can't get enough of the gaming shoes, but the baby blue color and hardcore Nintendo fanboyism of these sneaks leave me a little hesitant to buy. On the flipside, these particular shoes have translucent soles that give you a peak at a gel-obscured Yoshi on one foot and a yellow-cape wearing Mario from Super Mario World on the other. Maybe they'll come out with a nice black or grey version of these.

I'm pretty sure a guy got shot by wearing those.

Dell, Blizzard Auction Off Unique WoW Laptops

I sat in on the Michael Dell keynote this morning at the Venetian, hoping to hear something gaming related. Unsurprisingly, there was no mention of Dell acquiring Ziff-Davis gaming mags and 1UP.com. There was also no mention of Michael Dell talking about investing in Altantean property or putting research funds into why unicorns are so magical. What he did talk about was continuing to target the 12.5 million MMO players worldwide and the success of World of Warcraft.

It's a good computer with a crappy sticker on it. Yay.

Clips: Metronome

There are a few things in this world that I find irresistable and Eliza Gauger is one of them. We've shared laughter and tears, a love for Rule of Rose and giggled and whispered naughty things about Jimmy Hopkins. So, any missive from Miss Gauger is always treated with the utmost pomp and circumstance. I poured myself a cup of Earl Grey and sat down to read her email at my Victorian rolltop desk.

Flynn de Marco is actually a failed clone of Florian Eckhart. See, when his heart was replaced with a copy of ET for the 2600 at the secret underground laboratory, the only way the poor clone could come to terms with his identity and the monstrous evil residing within him was by infusing his blood with several cases of whiskey, giving him a 40% blood alcohol level. He then went on a drunken killing rampage. When Florian was kidnapped by the forces of Wired, Kotaku broke the heavily drunk and marginally insane Flynn out of prison and gave him a job.

Watch full movies and TV shows with Simplistic Video Links

Watch full-length TV shows and movies over at Simplistic's Movie Links, a site that scours YouTube for movie clips and splices them together into one watchable whole. The process isn't perfect: for example, Borat is chopped into ten parts. However, if it's a Sunday afternoon, and you're looking for something that might get you out of helping to clean out the garage, this might be a good fit (speaking completely hypothetically, of course).

This can't possibly be legal. How soon till the fuzz shuts it down?

Giant Link Statue Spotted In Vancouver

Kotakuite Landon L. had read yesterday's story about Nintendo of Canada's life size Link statue sweepstakes and, I'm sure, desperately desired to have the stationary hero all to himself. As he was walking through the streets of Vancouver, he happened upon an EB Games that was displaying a giant Link statue right in their front window.

I'd tap that.
I mean....wait...damn!
See what you do to me, Nintendo?

Gamestop Buyout Of Rhino Official

Blockbuster Inc. issued a press release earlier today on the sale of Rhino Video Games to Gamestop Corp. making the rumored sale of the southeastern game retailer official. Financial details of the sale were not disclosed, but Blockbuster expects to close the sale by the end of January.

The only thing the discount card is good for is saying "crap- I left it at home" and getting a courtesy discount.

Spore: What's the Deal

I've noticed lately, this trend to start calling out upcoming Will Wright brainchild Spore for being "behind schedule." I'm not quite sure what that's all about. Sure the game was showed back in 2005, and looked amazing, but just because it makes an appearance doesn't mean the game is months away from completion. I don't think the release date for Spore has been pushed back once. In fact, I don't think its ever had a release date.

Well, it was pencilled in for a release last fall. Also, from the videos it seems to be a fairly complete game so I really don't get what's taking so long.

LG Teams Up With Sega

I'm not quite sure what this is all about, but the Korea Times is reporting that Korean company LG Electronics has teamed up with Sega to show off three new HDTV models at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show. LG plans to introduce three new full HD TV models up to 60 inches in a joint-promotion with Japanese video game giant Sega. The company will display popular Sega games such as ``Virtua Fighter 5'' and ``Sonic'' on its full HD TVs at the expo.

Hmm...I wonder if this means there are Sega games headed over to LG phones. That is the easiest conclusion to draw.

Crecente on Attack of the Show

Chris Grant, from Joystiq, and I will be on today's Attack of the Show during The Loop segment. I'm told we will be talking about the year to come in gaming for the five or six minutes we get on air. The show airs at 7 p.m. EST, though I'm not exactly sure when the segment is. Although I've been on ABC World News, Fox Nation News, CNN and MSNBC to name a few, I've never received a dress code. Check it out: DRESS CODE?

When G4 started "reaching out" to other demographics and showing drifting, COPS, whatever the hell they show after 12, and 25 hours of Star Trek a day, their credibility went down the drain like....an obligatory poop joke.
