Live Camera Support for C&C; 360

Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars could give Xbox 360 fans a bit more live-action cinematic than they've bargained for, as EA announces Xbox Live Vision camera support for multiplayer matches. Now instead of just assuming you lost to a brilliant military thinker and feeling better about yourself, you can actively see that it was a bored 14 year-old who handed you your ass. And speaking off ass...

I am in your base, showing you my nuts.

The 8GB Memory Stick

Sony today announced the 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo. "The life of the Memory Stick format spans from the dawning of the digital camera to the emergence of today's high-definition video and gaming products," said Mike Kahn, senior manager for Memory Stick Media at Sony Electronics. "Throughout all of these advances in the consumer electronics industry, Memory Stick media has remained a constant source of compact and portable flash memory."

Just buy SanDisk. Cheaper and better.

Assassin's Creed, Fight Night 3 Up for Effects Award

Assassin's Creed and Fight Night 3 are both up for awards from the Visual Effects Society, Gamespot reports. Assassin's Creed is up for awards for Outstanding Real Time Visuals in a Video Game and Outstanding Pre-Rendered Visuals in a Video Game. The PS3 version of Fight Night Round 3 is up for Outstanding Real Time Visuals in a Video Game, the only competition for Assassin's Creed. Both Hellgate: London and Warhammer: Mark of Chaos are finalists for the other award with Assassin's Creed.

I think more awards should be given out before stuff is released.. it is not as if awards have any merit to them as it is.

Msoft: Zune Gets Games in 2008

Bloomberg is reporting that Microsoft will start introducing video games for their Zune music player within the next 18 months to match what Apple is doing with their iPod. ``I love the interface, I love the screen,'' Peter Moore said at a dinner with reporters during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The story goes on to talk about the Zune's expected sales versus iPod sales. Blah, blah, blah.

"i want games on the zune/ipod like i want a camera in my phone (hint: not at all)"

Guess what, you are in luck.. you do not have to buy the games for your phone!! You are today's lucky winner!

Rumor Watch: Apple Gaming

Steve Jobs will be taking to the stage at Macworld 2007 any second now. We know he's going to be talking about the company's new phone, according to the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, but there's been a presistent rumor that he's also going to be talking about gaming. Specifically, what I've heard is that Apple want to rev up their casual game production for both the iPod and the new phone. Makes sense. Is it real? We'll find out in the next 30 minutes or so.

The Descent Blu-ray Watchable on PS3 Only

It looks like Blu-ray still fresh off the production line, is already starting to run into format issues. Movie The Descent on Blu-ray is only playable right now on the Blu-ray player packed into the Playstation 3, 1Up reports. The problem lies in the BD-Java technology that Lions Gate Entertainment used for the movie's extras. The version they packed in isn't supported by Sony's BDP-S1 or Pioneer's Elite players.

People were actually planning to buy this movie?

Gamasutra Ranks Top 20 Publishers

Bored with "Top 20" lists? Doesn't matter, this one's going up. Gamasutra have thrown up their list of the top 20 publishers from 2006, which was previously only available as an article in the October issue of Game Developer magazine. What I like about this list, and what sets it apart from other lists like it, is that it doesn't rely on raw sales figures or profit margins.

Hey guys, EA killed my entire family and raped my dog.. how did they get #1? I want a recount on this shit.

I cannot believe how inane this entire thread is.

Carmack Eyes DS

John Carmack, the man that brought us Doom, is now bringing us a cell phone game Orcs and Elves and possibly a DS version of, well, Orcs and Elves. The game is an old style RPG. Carmack tells Wired's Chris Kohler: We're hoping to do a DS game version of Orcs and Elves, moving over and enhancing the cell phone game on there, which would be our first real direct entry back into the Nintendo world. Entry back into the Nintendo world?

Mansteak, are you kidding? I can only assume you are because that was pretty asinine.

Developers Protest Slamdance Game Festival

It appears the news we broke last week of Slamdance removing the Columbine game from their lists of finalists and why has created quite the shitstorm, for lack of a better word. Ian Bogost reports over on Water Cooler Games growing list of reactions to the decision: Kelee Santiago pulled Slamdance finalist and future PS3 title flOw from the competition in protest. To hear that the game had been pulled was deeply discouraging.

Nice counter argument MrFlannery.

I am sure he did not realize that he had to make a substantial comment based on lots of research to make an informed and meaningful comment when posting a comment on a blog about video games. I am sure in the future he will not make this mistake since you have let him know.
