As if you don't waste enough of your time in a gamer's haze, here's Kotaku: a gamer's guide that goes beyond the press release. Gossip, cheats, criticism, design, nostalgia, prediction. Don't get a life just yet.
Bashcraft's note: Regular readers know that this is my favorite Hideo Kojima picture. Pretty much because it looks like he was shoved in front of an Xbox 360 background. Just look at his face! The Rumor: A press conference in Osaka today revealed that Konami has established a development team called "Konami X Productions." The team is being headed by MGS creator Hideo Kojima. Frist, Konami X Prods.
Sony Online Entertainment and Midway have teamed up to bring six classic arcade titles to the PS3. The games planned for release via download from the PlayStation store are Gauntlet II, Joust, Rampage World tour, Rampart, Mortal Kombat II, and Championship Sprint. Each title was chosen with multiplayer support in mind, and the first title should be popping up for download in early 2007. No word yet on pricing.
Some new additions made their way to the PlayStation Store today, including two new games in the form of Sony Online Entertainment's platformer/racer GripShift and the classic PSone title Jumping Flash. The former will set back stunt racing fans a meager $9.99 while the latter follows typical PSone for PSP pricing at $5.99. In addition to these two games, trailers for highbrow flicks Blood Diamond and The Good German are also available for download.
I still have my copy of Jumping Flash, complete in longbox is long case.
1992: Human Entertainment releases Dragon's Earth for SNES in Japan. There is a bit of debate on the actual release date of this game, but we are going with today. I know it's an RPG, but absolutely nothing else other than there seem to be plenty of romz available and that our planet does not actually belong to dragons (yet). 1997: Digicube, a vending machine selling Square Co. games, reported that their units had sold over 10 million games.
I thought Digicube was the company that did Squeenix's Soundtracks.
From the pad of Major Nelson: I just heard from the Ops team...and we are all set now. They are debriefing now...so I'll see if I can get anything out of e to share on my show this week. Go, play, frolic with your friends. I hope playing single-player for a couple of hours didn't hurt too much. Luke Plunkett Yup...
Up and then down again.
Now we just need "X-Box Live goes Left"

"X-Box Live goes A"
"Start!"
1999: Hudson releases Robopon 64 for N64 in Japan. I know little to nothing about the game, but from screenshots it looks like a Pokemon-esque robot fighting game. I guess it's time to bust out the old emulators. 2004: Sega releases Puyo Puyo Pop Fever for PSP and DS in the US. No matter how advanced portable technology becomes, people will always want falling brick games on the go.
The only thing I know about Puyo Pop Fever was that it was featured in an episode of Genshiken.
The Sony bashing and PS3 outrageousness has spread to every corner of the country. Even my parents, who know nothing about video games, had heard about all the foolishness surrounding the launch, the line waiting, riots, shootings, etc. And, here we are on Christmas Eve and you can walk into pretty much any store and pick one up. Now it seems like everyones getting in to the Sony bashing act!
I've been saying that Sony is betting the farm on the PS3/Blu-Ray since E3 2005.
They are, really.
And Adeptvoice, reguarding Sony BMG and Sony PIctures, those aren't doing so hot. Movies on the whole have been in a slump, and Sony BMG is JUST getting over the massive rootkit fiasco. Hell, ALL of Sony's other industries are not feeling so good.
I know the Gran Turismo demo isn't supposed to hit until tomorrow, but early this morning there were several reports of people being able to download it. And it looks like word has spread, as of about 8 a.m. the network has been knocked-out. According to the Playstation 3 forums, the help center is telling people that the network was knocked out because it got too busy.
Yikes. Didn't they stress-tess the network at all?
NIS America is now accepting preorders for the first volume of the Disgaea anime, coming out on the 9th of January with an amazing new "understandable by non-Japanese speakers" feature! Of course I like my anime like I like my women. Subtitled. Aww yeah. In honor of the upcoming release, I present the trailer for the series, presented in crystal-clear English-o-rama sound. Mmmm, Etna. Hot, evil, in control of a horde of undead penguin creatures - everything a guy could ask for.
Well this is unexpected. Hey, Europe, you thought the DS was a region-free system? Don't worry, I did too. Turns out it's not (at least when Pokémon is concerned). Speaking in regards to the upcoming Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, Nintendo Europe's Robert Saunders told Kikizo: We in no way condone the importing of games into territories other than where they are supposed to be sold.
To everyone flipping out: This is Nintendo EUROPE. This isn't the main Nintendo HQ saying this, just NINTENDO EUROPE.
Why it's just Nintendo EUROPE has already been said.
Rumor Smash: Kojima Making Exclusive Xbox Games
Bashcraft's note: Regular readers know that this is my favorite Hideo Kojima picture. Pretty much because it looks like he was shoved in front of an Xbox 360 background. Just look at his face! The Rumor: A press conference in Osaka today revealed that Konami has established a development team called "Konami X Productions." The team is being headed by MGS creator Hideo Kojima. Frist, Konami X Prods. The most amusing part is that IGN believed it.

Judging by the first tab in that screenshot, this seems to be a planned hoax.
