O'Reilly denies allegations of White House/FOX symbiosis in one segment, thanks CIA-linked private airline for lift to Iraq in another

Last night 12/18/06 on the Factor host Bill O'Reilly did a segment attacking retired newsman Dan Rather for comments about the White House and FOX News having a "different" relationship than other news networks. O'Reilly said he is rapidly losing respect for Rather and complained that Rather is "too busy" to come on the Factor but managed to fit in an interview on CNN, where he reiterated his opinion that the two are operating in synch. O'Reilly was adamant that there is no such relationship, yet earlier in his Talking Points Memo he had thanked Evergreen International Aviation for the fine service on O'Reilly's trip to Iraq last week.

Brent Bozell’s Hypocrisy On View

The December 19, 2006 edition of Hannity & Colmes included yet another attack on The View and Hollywood celebrities. The panel featured two guests whose opinions ran the gamut from condemning The View’s Joy Behar to condemning the left because Behar, in an off-hand remark, equated Donald Rumsfeld with Hitler. Brent Bozell represented the latter opinion. He sanctimoniously complained, “If any conservative on television were to make a comment like that, before the sentence were finished, that person would be fired.” So Alan Colmes read Bozell some Hitler comparisons from Republicans and asked where Bozell’s outrage was then. Bozell could only feebly parse the difference. But even that weak defense crumbles upon one look at his website. With video.

Holly Madison, Hugh Hefner's "significant other" will be on to share "her gift ideas." Cavuto will look at and show Madison "from all angles [like he did during the promo], so take out your notepad and pencil" for some "gift ideas maybe you were thinking about but just didn't share with anyone," during a "very special" Your World.

Hillary Clinton wrote a Wall Street Journal editorial with Republican Senator John Ensign, in which they argued against a “surge” in troops to Iraq. But rather than discuss that important issue, FOX News trivialized the matter last night (12/18/06) by having Hannity & Colmes focus on her political ambitions, instead. The very anti-Hillary Dick Morris was the sole guest. Predictably, he found a way to smear Barack Obama along the way so that the whole thing became another FOX News bashapalooza of Democrats. Rainier, on The Factor 12/18/06 about the mountain climbers who are currently lost on Mt. Hood. O'Reilly thinks it's madness to climb in the winter and wants to put a stop to it, in the interest of protecting the teams that perform these numerous rescues at great cost to taxpayers.

It was teased last week on The Factor (Thursday and Friday) that O'Reilly was "on assignment" and would have a major breaking news story tonight, Monday 12/18/06. Maybe "breaking news" was a bit of hyperbole, as O'Reilly reported his first-hand experiences thanking about 3,000 American troops in Iraq and signing donated copies of his latest work of fiction, Culture Warrior.

Last Wednesday Neil Cavuto hosted Republican Senator Jon Kyl (AZ) in a bash-Democrat-Bill-Nelson segment. Nelson had the temerity to go to Syria and speak to Syrian President Assad to try to get something, anything going to improve the horrendous mess George Bush created in Iraq. But, of course, sticking our nose in the air at Assad (and others) is more important to "some people" than dealing with that heartbreaking and shameful mess so Cavuto and Kyl went at it over Nelson's bad behavior (never mind Bush's).

He then called it a 'parade of Democrats' heading to Syria but didn't mention that Republican Senator, Arlen Specter was headed there as the banner on his screen claimed.

Sean Hannity Continues His Inappropriate Activism On Behalf Of Duke Lacrosse Defendants

Sean Hannity never tires of complaining about judicial activism. Black's Law Dictionary defines it as allowing one's "personal views about public policy, among other factors, to guide decisions and ignore precedent." When it comes to Hannity’s own professional behavior, the sky’s the limit on any level of activism that might strike his fancy. The fact that he’s supposed to be the host of a debate show on a “fair and balanced” news network is no impediment either. Thus, on Friday night (12/15/06), Hannity & Colmes viewers were treated to another round of Hannity’s tireless activism on behalf of the rich, white Duke lacrosse players. Once again, college dropout Hannity provided “expert” commentary on the legal insufficiencies of the case, coupled with omissions of a few key facts that don’t make Hannity’s guys look so good.
