93 raids were carried out in 2005, in Drogheda, Inch, Kart City, Balbriggan, Clara, Fairyhouse, Windsor, Long Mile Road, Kildare and Mountrath markets.

17,205 CDRs and 80,000 DVDs were seized in 2005 (compared to 38,600 CDRs and 67,000 in 2004).

A total of 185 CD/DVD burners were seized, as well as 3 scanner/printer combinations, 34 printers and 2 scanners (compared to 157 burners and 6printer/scanner combinations in 2004).

We continuously check car boot sales, Sunday markets, summer festivals and city streets for pirate sellers. Warrants are obtained wherever necessary. For certain summer festivals, we obtain warrants in advance. No music piracy has been observed on the Dublin streets in the last couple of years.

There were 6 convictions for breach of copyright in the District Courts. Penalties ranged from fines of €1,400 to €6,000 to 3 months prison sentence suspended for 2 years
