Lowenstein: E3 Invitation Numbers Too High

Home : News : News Story

ESA President Doug Lowenstein says that the expected number of 5,000 attendees is a little too generous.

"Currently I think that figure is high," stated ESA Prez Doug Lowenstein in an interview with MCV. "The point is we don't want people wandering around that aren't the people companies want to meet." Does that last snippet imply that only those journalists liked by the big companies will be invited? Sadly, that may be the case. The "who" and "how many" of the invitation process will be revealed next month.

And while that may make the thousands of you hoping to get an invitation shake in your seats, there is a little patch of good news: Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony will still orchestrate massive press conferences. That makes me smile.
