Climatic conditions and their effects on the body in each season!
The nature of Visarga Kala is said to be 'Sowmaya'. In this 'Kala' (Seasons) the earth moves farther away from sun and is nearer to Moon. So the 'Rukshata' (dryness) caused by sun in 'Aadhanakala' is neutralized by the 'Sowmyata' Moon in this 'Kala'. As the effect of Moon increases day by day, the atmosphere becomes more and more cooler. Due to the dampness caused by rain and cooling effect of Moon, the 'Snighdata' (unctousness) of body goes on increasing day by day. An article by Dr. Smita Yavagal.Read On

Effect of 'Hemanta Rutu' on Human body.
In this season, the wind is very cold. Thus when this cold wind ('vayu') touches the skin, it causes vaso - constriction to maintain the temperature of the body, which means that the temperature present inside the body is not conducted or passed out of the body. Due to this phenomenon 'Jatharagni' (digestive fire) inside the body gets increased - and the digestive power of a person increases. He becomes capable of digesting even large quantity of food, and also those foods, which are heavy ('Guru - Aahara') for digestion. Read On

Greeshma-Rutucharya
"Greeshma-Ruthu" can be compared with summer season. This ruthu is formed by two months according to Hindu calendar i.e. "Jeshta" and "Ashaada" (May-June). Read on

Varsha-Ruthucharya 
"Shravana" and "Bhadrapada" (July-August) are the two months according to Hindu calendar, which constitutes the "Varsha-Ruthu". This can be compared with rainy season. Read On 

Sharad-Ruthucharya"Sharad-Ruthu" is formed by two months according to Hindu calendar i.e. Ashwini and Karthika (September and October).Read On

Shishira-Rutucharya
According to Hindu calendar "Shishira-rutu" is divided into two months viz. Megha and Phalguna (January and February). This "Rutu" have the same effect on our body as the effect of "Hemantha-Rutu". The only difference in these two "Rutus" is the severity of cold, which goes on increasing day by day. So the "Rutucharya" of "Hemantha-Rutu" should be followed here also but more vigorously.
