Collaboration 2k6

v1.0

By RyokoTK, Jon Irons, and Simon Dupuis

Contains 3 huge netmaps

Go Back

The summer of 2006 was a particularly fertile time for Marathon netmapping. Ryoko released Red Spectrum 1.6, Irons released his Underworld netpack, and Simon was working hard on his Portal of Sigma netpack.

In addition, Ryoko participated in a Map-Making Roulette with Simon, and two MMRs with Irons. They all turned out to be very good for large net games. This "collaboration" pack contains those maps, released to the public for the first time.

All three maps are expansive. Two of them should probably have no less than six players.

  1. Python Dancer
  2. Horizontal Sync
  3. The Last Goodbye
EMFH-enabled KOTH-enabled KTMWTB-enabled

Python Dancer

Irons says:

"Perhaps the nicest map in the pack, Python Dancer embodies what a MMR map should be. We mappers quickly adjusted to each others' styles, collaborating on the map for only a few hours before its completion. It went in six or seven stages, including the ammunition and sounds additions. Ryoko started the map at the center/hill, and we branched out from there."

Recommended group size: 4-6

Horizontal Sync

Irons says:

"I was the one who started this MMR, the second that Ryoko and I did. I couldn't really decide what the hell to do, which kind of shows, because this map is huge and rambling. It looks really nice, mainly thanks to Ryoko, and plays neatly. I can't really see games with less than six players even being possible on here."

Recommended group size: 6-8 players

The Last Goodbye

Irons says:

"I didn't have any part in this one. Simon and Ryoko ended up with a really big, square map, but don't worry, because it plays much better than it looks. Not that it looks bad, but square maps usually aren't too good. Anyway, it's an enjoyable romp."
