Three pupils hurt in coach crash
Coach crash
Police said three accidents in the area may have been due to rain
Police say 22 schoolchildren were taken to hospital after the coach they were travelling in hit a telegraph pole in Llantysilio, near Llangollen.

Three of the primary school pupils and the female driver were taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital with minor injuries.

Another 19 pupils were taken to the same hospital by coach as a precaution, following the accident at 1230 BST.

All 22 children - aged between seven and 11 - were later released from hospital.

The children were on their way to secondary school Ysgol Dinas Bran for a PE lesson when the incident occurred.

Swerved

A passing ambulance summoned help almost immediately, and four crews were initially despatched.

The North Wales Police helicopter was also mobilised, but was not needed.

The driver suffered an abdominal injury which was not thought to be serious.

The coach driver swerved to avoid an oncoming police car which was on its way to another accident on the A5.

North Wales Police say they had three accidents within half a mile of each other around the same time which they believe may have been due to the heavy rain.
