WWII at Ballyhalbert :My mum was
stationed at Ballyhalbert during WWII. She was in the first group
of women who were sent there. She said it was the best two years
of her life. She also said that it seemed to be a place where they
sent airmen to "recover," either from psychological distress
or other problems...more>>>
Ballykelly :My mother remembers from
her childhood in the 1930s that her father would occasionally doze
off while driving his horse and trap of an evening home from the
Limavady cattle market, but the canny old horse would find its own

Randalstown Mill :My Mother and her
three sisters worked at the Old Bleach in Randalstown. Mum and two
of her sisters used to do the hand painting on the tableclothes.
Mum told me that they couldn't get the colour dyes from Germany
while the war was on......
