New FFVIII CD-ROM Announced

Digicube plans to release a new CD-ROM for Final Fantasy VIII.

Digicube announced on Wednesday that it will be releasing a new CD-ROM for the PC entitled Final Fantasy VIII Desktop Accessories. The CD-ROM contains icons, wallpapers, screensavers, and other desktop accessories that will satisfy any FFVIII fan.

Aside from the desktop accessories, the CD-ROM includes the card game from the PlayStation FFVIII game, which can be played multiplayer through a LAN network. Lastly, the CD-ROM will also include a program called Final Fantasy VIII Mail. Users will be able to send e-mails complete with fancy FFVIII letter pads and postage stamps.

Final Fantasy VIII Desktop Accessories will be sold for 4980 yen (about US$45) and is scheduled for a September 22 release in Japan.
