SEARCH TIPS

When searching by year, keep in mind that the release date is based on the official theatrical release in the United States.  Some films are released within the last few days of a calendar year in order to qualify for an Oscar run.  So although you may think a film is released early in 1997, it may actually have been released in limited play and in certain cities on or around December 31st 1996.  That officially makes the film a 1996 release.

When searching alphabetically, keep in mind that some foreign films are released with alternate titles to those used in the United States.  Wherever we can, we have attempted to list the film under the major titles it has used around the globe.  However, occasionally you may find yourself searching for a well known film under a title not listed here.  For alternate titles, please visit imdb.com, where they will list every title that was used worldwide for any particular film.

Also, keep in mind that words like The, A, An, Le, La, L' and Les are not included in the alphabetizing.  We will try to accommodate the French and Italian articles under both letters commonly used.  So as an example, "L'Avventura" will be listed under both L and A.
