What is NBC CTS?

The Nuclear Biological Chemical Casualty Training System (NBC CTS) is a networked simulation which simulates the NBC battlefield.  Users have the option of choosing to play command or medical roles, during the exercise.  Command roles are responsible for managing evacuation assets, supplies and disseminating information to subordinate units.  Command roles that may be played are: Medical Logistics Battalion (MEDLOG), Medical Evacuation Battalion (MEDEVAC), Medical Brigade (MEDBDE), or Medical Group (MEDGRP).  Medical roles are responsible for the management of casualties and their designated medical treatment facility.  Medical roles that may be played are: Battalion Aid Station (BAS), Forward Support Medical Company (FSMC), Main Support Medical Company (MSMC), or Combat Support Hospital (CSH).  The list of available units is completely customizable, based on the requirements of the training audience.

Who created NBC CTS?

NBC CTS was created by the NBC Sciences Branch, Army Medical Department Center & School, Fort Sam Houston, in cooperation with the U.S. Army Office of the Surgeon General.  It is managed and operated by the AMEDDC&S Battle Simulation Center.  If there are features you would like to see in NBC CTS, or if you have suggestions for improvement — no matter how big, or how small — send an email with your comments to william.mccormick@amedd.army.mil.

To sign up for an exercise, click Coming Exercises on the toolbar above, and you will be prompted to sign in. After you sign in, you will be shown a list of exercises scheduled for coming weeks.  To sign up for an exercise, click on the sign up field of the table. If you have already signed up for an exercise and would like to cancel your participation, click on the cancel field of the table.  When you sign up for an exercise, you will receive an email stating the time to login, along with your exercise login ID and password (note: the exercise ID and password will be unique to the exercise, and are not the same as the ID and password you are given as a registered user of the site).
