BRIEFHISTORY:

Nakuru Diocese ws created on January 11th, 1968.Nakuru and Baringo Districts were taken rom the Diocese of Eldoret, Kericho District from the Diocese of Kisumu and a very small area from the Archdiocese of Nairobi. The new Diocese was originally given in the pastoral care of St. Patrick’s Missionaries, who worked hand in hand with the Mill Hill Fathers.  They were later joined by the Comboni Fathers, then by the Spiritan Fathers; later still by the Franscan Friars and by the Contemplative Evangelisers of the Heart of Christ.  Diocesan Priests, now and for some years, outnumber all other groups by a wide margin.  Since 1995, when the Diocese of Kericho was created, the Diocese comprises Nakuru, Baringo and Koibatek Districts.
