So log on, tune in, and uncover with us the Sacred Mysteries of Macedonia.

Old religions converge on day three of our Macedonian adventure.  Richard and the team seek hiding places of holy relics and sacred truths, and find that some secrets are perhaps best left unexplored. Follow the quest...

On the fourth day of our quest, we travel high into Macedonia's magic mountains, seeking the fountain of eternal youth and other healing properties of these ancient lands.  Join the search...

Here we go again with the slavs in FYROM trying to find there identity. I haven't seen any ancient artifacts that are found in FYROM first of all and anything that was found is written in Greek. So that means these slavs/Bulgarian mountain people should be very nice to us Greek Macedons in the south, because they will be running for help when the Albanians take over there little piece of land

It is obvious to me that it is fair that this land is called Macedonia, as it is part of the geographical area of Macedonia. I don't see any reason for tension with Greece - other countries in Europe share lands with the same or similar names with no problem. However, what I just read in Yahoo is either a deliberate lie or a simple mistake: "Home of Alexander the Great". The home of Alexander the Great was in Greek Macedonia, in Pella. All the artifacts found in Greek Macedonia from Alexander's time have greek inscriptions on them. Among the thousands of inscriptions in greek, there is not a single one in the modern Macedonian language - simply because slavic languages did not exixt at the time. Slavic people have a rich cultural heritage of their own. It seems so childish that some of them are trying to show that they have some connection with Alexander. It's as if north Americans were trying to look as descendents of the Mayas - when the real descendents of the Mayas live in South America.

Correction: I wrote "there is not a single one in the modern Macedonian language" - meant to type "in a language related to modern Macedonian language"

I have read the article and nobody says that Alexander the Great was Slav. Your implications are very incorect. And about US Americans wanting to prove they are descendents of the Mayas. What an ignorant statment...

Is Mr Bangs somewhat confused?Did he have too much raki in Skopje and lost the plot? What do have people of slavic origin to do with ancinet greeks? Also a correction to the false history facts mentioned above with regards to the O lympic games: in ancient times ONLY Greeks were allowed to participate. Since the Macedonians were Greeks (of Argive descent) they did participate, simple as that...there were no slavs back then mind you...
