Get fit

British swimmer David Davies

Why bother?

Exercise is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, but lots of us don't get enough. New Year is a good time to take a look at how much excercise you're getting and how much you need.

There are loads of different ways of keeping fit, and the excercise doesn't have to be that hard, in fact it's best to start gently so that you don't injure yourself.

Some tips to help you with this resolution:

  • Keep an excercise diary. That way you'll know when you're due to take some excercise. Making a note of how well it went can help you stay motivated.

  • If you feel like you don't have enough time to stay active, try getting up early and going for a walk before you get ready for the day.

  • Make exercise a part of your daily life by walking around while you chat to your mates at break time.
