Letter of clearance from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, dated May 10, 1974, to Dr. E. Lee Spence from the District Engineer, Army Corps of Engineers, waiving objections to Sea Research Society's proposed salvage of the Civil War submarine H.L. Hunley.
Note: This waiver of objection or clearance was furnished to Spence only after he complied with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' request that Sea Research Society pinpoint the Hunley's location on a map. The Corps was obviously satisfied with the degree of specificity represented in Spence's map or they would not have issued this clearance.
