During 2003-2004, close to $4 million had been donated to The Chronicle's 18th annual Season of Sharing Fund. Through the years, donations from individuals, church groups, scout troops, corporations and foundations have exceeded $42 million. 100% of those donations have provided direct assistance to Bay Area families, elderly and disabled individuals facing a short-term hardship.
