Design Editor
MSNBC.com is seeking a Design Editor responsible for creating and producing design graphics and illustrations for our online news website.  Under general supervision, will work directly with multimedia editors, news and features editors to create the visual content for the web.

Requires BA/BS degree or equivalent experience, 2-4 years in news design or web design, and 1-2 years experience with interactive software (Flash, Photoshop, illustrator, etc.).  Requires knowledge of basic design principles (especially typography), illustration, working knowledge of PC platform, good news judgment, multi-tasking, teamwork, verbal communication and collaboration, highly motivated and innovative designer.  Current versions of Photoshop, Flash Illustrator, and CSS; understanding of the display of quantitative information (such as charts and graphs); experience with working with news photography also required.  Position located in Redmond, WA.

Multimedia Editor
MSNBC.com is seeking a Multimedia Editor, to work from our Redmond, WA facility.  Responsible for editing images, audio and video that were created by journalists, using the highest journalistic, ethical, quality and esthetic standards.  Will work primarily on the Daily news desk.  Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously a must.  Work with fellow newsroom employees to formulate coverage and deadlines keeping budget requirements in mind.  Proficiency in professional grade editing software for each medium, and adaptability to new technology.  Produce multimedia packages by accomplishing some or all of the story idea generation, original reporting, and production of multimedia packages and capture reader data to note effectiveness of material.  Awareness of industry tools and techniques with an eye toward innovating the medium.

BA/BS degree or equivalent experience and 2-4 years in news or relevant experience required.  Fluent with covering news in a journalistic, ethical and visual manner using still photos, edited using professional level tools; fluency in at least one of the following:  editing audio, video, or creating interactive presentations with professional level tools, quality and technology. Applicant must be willing to work flexible hours.  Expect some weekend and evening shifts.

Group Product Manager, Sales
The Group Product Manager position is focused on developing sales products and packages for MSNBC.com for MSN Sales & clients.   Responsibilities include developing compelling marketing solutions and providing top-notch customer service to clients by effectively managing and directing the product managers.  Will function as the key liason between MSN ad product planning and MSNBC.com. 

The Group Product Manager will develop key relationships with Account Executives and internal MSN sales contacts and manage sales communications regarding product and sales operations issues and opportunities. 

The Group Product Manager will also be responsible for product marketing and leading sales market research.  He/she will also provide leadership and product development vision for the product management staff and will be a key part of sales management decisions.

A minimum 4 years proven direct media sales or business development experience.  Candidates must have extremely strong skills in project management and sales packaging/pricing.  Candidates with experience managing people are strongly preferred.

Ad Sales Coordinator
The Ad Sales Coordinator position is focused on three primary areas of responsibility within the MSNBC Sales and Business Development department:

. Sales/Revenue Operations - The Ad Sales Coordinator will be handling various internal sales projects and support with the most critical being in the area of ad operations working with MSN to make sure that ad campaigns are trafficked and running smoothly; providing solutions for ad serving technical issues; will be the day to day operations contact to ensure ads are scripted correctly on the site.

. Content Sponsorships - This position will assist and provide support to the Sales Operations Manager, Product Managers and Sales Managers on sponsored packages such as Network Calendar specials and custom editorial projects. This position also participates in content planning process for custom publishing solutions by coordinating meetings and communication between product managers and editorial staff

. E-commerce - This position is the primary operational contact for e-commerce partnerships with MSN Shopping and other partners; This position will work with MSN for reporting, ecommerce optimization and implementation of new projects and initiatives

College degree and 2 years of sales or ad operations experience in online preferred.  Candidates must have strong attention to detail and analytical skills as well as demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.

Product Manager, Cross-Media/Video
MSNBC.com is seeking a Product Manager to work from our Redmond, WA facility.  This position is focused on developing sales products and packages for MSNBC.com specific to cross-media sales opportunities with NBC On-Air TV sales and video streaming sales product management.   Responsibilities include developing compelling marketing solutions and providing top-notch customer service to clients by effectively managing and directing a small team.  Will function as the key product expert for NBC Sales and the MSNBC.com X-Media Sales Director. 

The X-Media & Video Product Manager will develop key relationships with Account Executives and internal MSN sales contacts and manage sales communications regarding product and sales operations issues and opportunities as it relates to video and x-media packages. This position will also be responsible for product marketing and leading sales market research.  He/she will provide leadership and product development vision and will be a key part of sales management decisions.  The X-Media/Video Product Manager will work with various internal partners and key management to help drive product strategy, monetization plans, and be the advocate for advertising clients internally.

Concepts Producer
Do you have a vision of what online news could be? Can you take what's in your head and express it pixel by pixel in Photoshop? Or better yet, build it in Flash? The #1 news website is looking for an innovative journalist/designer who can help us evolve the online medium.

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative visual concepts producer to work under limited supervision and with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.  Will contribute creative ideas for improving the usability and editorial content of MSNBC.com. Concepts may take several forms, including mock-ups, published experiments or working demos. Work directly with stakeholders from various departments, including editorial, marketing, technology and sales. Translate ideas into design concepts.  Evaluate and advocate the use of new technologies. Keep current on web trends, particularly those with application to journalism. May provide coaching and training to other employees.

MSNBC.com is seeking an experienced Editor to work in our Redmond, WA facility.  This person will be responsible for assisting in daily news production in the Business section, maintain subsection fronts, helping develop and maintain interactives.  Will also assist in researching data and material for original features and projects.

The successful candidate must be team oriented yet self-sufficient, working with others in the newsroom.  Must display a keen interest in news and awareness of what stories appeal to casual Internet readers.  Requires solid editing and writing, time management, teamwork and collaboration, verbal and written communication, desktop computer applications (such as WORD), reliability, attention to detail, flexibility and multitasking skills.  Requires BA degree or equivalent and 2-4 years journalism experience.  Experience with online publishing strongly preferred.

Deputy Editor, Visuals
The No. 1 news site on the Web is seeking an experienced visual journalist to lead our multimedia, graphics, design and interactive departments. Reporting directly to the managing editor, this top-level editor will manage our industry-leading visual journalists in a fast-paced environment that values innovative storytelling and original and field reporting. Working as part of the editorial executive leadership team, this editor will be a key voice in strategy and implementation.

Candidates should have at least seven years of visual journalism experience and at least two years of online journalism experience in design and/or multimedia. Editorial Manager, Today Show
MSNBC.com is seeking an experienced editor to lead our Today Show team.  This creative editor will manage a team of three Web editors and work directly with producers of NBC's Today Show to maximize the show's content online as well as create complementary Web content for the today.msnbc.com site.  This editor will work across departments, in close alignment with the other NBC show sites as well as with design, media and interactive departments, and with editors in topical sections. 

Qualifications include a minimum of seven years relevant Internet publishing and editorial experience with hands on experience assigning and editing stories and developing Web packages, and at least two years experience in Web content production involving daily updates. Strong, proven managerial experience required. Candidate must have strong editing, writing and communication skills, demonstrated ability to multitask, and a strong interest in and understanding of interactive media. Understanding of the TV production process and broadcast experience a plus. BA/BS degree, or equivalent experience.

This experienced journalist will be a part of a team developing the strategy for MSNBC.com's consumer health coverage, and will also do daily production of the Health section. Qualifications include two to four years of experience in health journalism, outstanding writing and editing skills and excellent news judgment. Experience with online publishing strongly preferred.

Editor, Technology
If you have experience in technology journalism and want to work for the award-winning MSNBC.com, we have an opportunity for you. The No. 1 news Web site is looking for an editor who will be responsible for daily editing and production of content in the Technology/Science section. This experienced journalist will be responsible for publishing breaking news, doing daily editing and production of the section, promoting relevant video and developing interactive storytelling.

Candidate is expected to stay current with technology, science and space news and must be able to edit and produce special projects as needed. Primary responsibility is to assure quality projects and processes in an n-tier environment designed and developed by peer Program Management and Development teams.  This includes reviewing functional and design specifications, creating test strategy documentation, articulating and implementing test cases, identifying and managing defects, working closely with developers to analyze and debug assorted code (C#, Jscript, ASP.NET, XML/XSL, etc.), driving broad testing efforts such as performance or security testing, developing automated tools / test code where needed and managing signoff criteria and product development process improvements. 

The successful candidates must show strong aptitude for testing / familiarity with web product development, good communications and technical skills, and collaboration.  Position requires working knowledge of web and XML technologies such as HTML/DHTML/CSS, C#, SQL, IIS, multiple browser types and configurations, XML/XSL/XSLT, scripting languages (ASP, VBScript, Jscript) with fluency in one programming language.  A minimum of a BS degree in computer science or related program and two years experience in a software development related field required.
