Officer Career Options

As an Officer in the Royal Navy you will be trained as a specialist to perform key operational roles. You will have management responsibility for people and for state-of-the-art equipment. Specialists in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines work together to carry out vital work in ships, submarines, aircraft, naval air stations and shore establishments.

The minimum qualifications required will be 5 GCSEs or equivalent (including Maths and English) and 140 UCAS points. The 140 UCAS points now takes into account 'A' Levels, 'AS' Levels, Vocational Certificate of Education, Key Skills and 1-Unit Awards. (This is effectively equivalent to 2 good A level passes and 5 GSCE's if you received your 'A' levels before July 2001). If you are still unsure about whether you meet the minimum qualifications, contact your local Area Careers Liason Officer.
