Danny Elfman's Music For A Darkened People - A History

Danny Elfman's MFADP was started August, 1996. It was an effort to restart a flagging presence of Danny Elfman's filmmusic on the Internet. Other sites (bless them) were left without updates and there was a cry in all of the Internet such as was never heard or shall be heard again. So I signed up with Tripod for what was then 100KB of disk space.

The 100KB slowly became 200KB, then 1Mb, then 2Mb, and now 11Mb. Thanks to generous donations of webspace from visitors, the site had enough disk space to manage over 600 image files and over 140 Real Audio music files. Shortly after appearing in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY magazine, the site moved to the filmmusic.com server thanks to David Koran and Dan Goldwasser. It was one of the first composer websites to reside on the server and remains one of the only non-official sites to do so. The forte of MFADP was news - getting the latest and publishing it here as quickly as possible was my main goal. Soon the site branched out to include sound files, reviews and features. Now you'll find clips from stuff you might never thought you'd hear.

This site wouldn't be the way it is today without those who contributed in various sizes and ways, humored me, corresponded with me, or just wrote something encouraging. I apologize if you've been left out, but it's been three long years!
