How IOL polls work Each poll will only be "active" for a short period - generally a day or two - and votes will only be accepted during the period each poll is active. If deemed necessary, an issue may be polled for a second time. An archived version of past polls will be available for viewing. How to post a comment about a poll issue Each poll will be accompanied by a reader discussion board where you can add your comments about the poll topic. You will only be able to comment during the period the poll is active. After that all comments will be archived and you will be able to read comments posted about previous polls, but you will not be able to add new comments. Here are some ground rules for submitting you comment: Your contribution will be limited to 200 words written in the box provided. Comments on the topic being polled will be accepted only for the duration of the poll. Please limit your comments to the issue at hand. Personal attacks on readers will not be tolerated. Play the ball and not the person. Racist, inflammatory, defamatory mail will not be published.. Letters may be edited, or may not be published at all. If you want your name to be published, please check the box next to “publish my name”. If you wish to remain anonymous, please un-check the box next to “publish my name”. No submissions will be accepted if a name and email address are not supplied.
