With only days left before Saturday's Stihl Non-stop Dusi, just over 30 entries had been received with a lot more expected in the next couple of days on the occasion of the race's 10th anniversary.
Entries are being accepted for both the K1 and K2 categories.
The good news for paddlers is that there will be lots of water in the Umsinduzi and Umgeni Rivers for their event, which starts at 5.30am on Saturday from Camp's Drift in Pietermaritzburg and ends at Durban's Blue Lagoon.
Recent good rains have filled dams along the route and Umgeni Water has agreed to water releases similar to the Hansa Powerade Dusi held a couple of weeks ago.
The rules are that there are no rules bar two checkpoints that paddlers have to check in at along the route. But all boats have to be supported by teams of seconders for their food and water supplies and spare paddles.
