One way that Amend.org maximizes the amount of funding that goes directly to our programs is by working with talented people who care enough to volunteer their time. Amend.org was started by volunteers, and could not exist without them.

Many nonprofits—especially those that work abroad—find that training and supervising volunteers can consume more resources than they free up. Since Amend.org has only a staff of two, time is scarce, and we need creative, self-starting volunteers who can take on a project and see it to completion with minimal supervision.

Amend.org needs volunteers to do everything from stuffing envelopes and running errands in New York City, to SQL programming from anywhere, to supervising field programs in Africa. Volunteers who come to us with great ideas we haven’t thought of are highly welcome!

If you feel as though you fit the bill, please fill out and submit the form below—it might be the best thing you ever did. Please check back here as we will occasionally list our specific needs at the time.

Briefly, what are your special skills and why are you interested in volunteering for Amend.org?

One specific area we could use help with is databasing and web programming. We're looking for someone with sophisticated SQL, PHP and other web programming skills. The ideal candidate is someone who will work with us a few hours a week over the long term to help develop and refine the web functionality that will be critical to Amend.org's ongoing success and innovation. We are looking for someone who has a vision for developing technology and its implementation.
