Editor, Sports
MSNBC.com is looking for an experienced sports copy editor/producer to add to its growing team of passionate and enthusiastic journalists. The editor will be responsible for daily production of the Sports section on the No. 1 news Web site, and likely work as an assigning editor for a specific sport.

Working as a team is important at MSNBC.com, so the candidate also will be responsible for assisting in the development of the strategy for the section. Qualifications include at least two years of experience in sports journalism, strong copy editing skills, excellent news judgment and project management. Experience with online publishing is strongly preferred.

Writer/Editor, Health
Join MSNBC.com, the No. 1 news Web site, and be on the leading edge of consumer health news. This key person will be responsible for writing stories on health news and trends, doing quick analysis of breaking news and conceiving and producing in-depth features and special reports.

This experienced journalist will be a part of a team developing the strategy for MSNBC.com's consumer health coverage, and will also do daily production of the Health section. Qualifications include two to four years of experience in health journalism, outstanding writing and editing skills and excellent news judgment. Experience with online publishing strongly preferred.

Associate Editor, Travel
If you have a great work ethic, love to work as a part of a team and have experience in travel journalism, then MSNBC.com is the place for you. This person will be responsible for the daily editing and production of content in the Travel section of the No. 1 news Web site. The candidate is expected to stay current with travel news and must be able to edit and produce special projects as needed.

Qualifications include one to two years of journalism experience, smart news judgment and understanding of the Internet audience. Outstanding editing, project management, organization, time management and multitasking also are vital to the role.

Editor, Technology
If you have experience in technology journalism and want to work for the award-winning MSNBC.com, we have an opportunity for you. The No. 1 news Web site is looking for an editor who will be responsible for daily editing and production of content in the Technology/Science section. This experienced journalist will be responsible for publishing breaking news, doing daily editing and production of the section, promoting relevant video and developing interactive storytelling.

Candidate is expected to stay current with technology, science and space news and must be able to edit and produce special projects as needed. Qualifications include at least four years of journalism experience, with some experience in technology news. Experience with online publishing strongly preferred.

Deputy Editor, News
MSNBC.com is seeking a Deputy Editor, News. This news executive will run the news side of the No. 1 news site on the Web, managing the News and Cover team (West Coast, East Coast and London) and the Projects team. Candidates should have a record of leading and creating innovative and unique content; proven multiteam and large-group management experience; knowledge of current Web trends; current understanding of investigative and CAR trends; proven ability to work as part of team; at least eight years of journalism experience in a Web or print organization.

This editor, based at MSNBC.com headquarters in Redmond, Wash., will report directly to the Managing Editor and work as part of the key deputy-editor team that leads and strategizes innovative practices across the editorial department.

Deputy Editor, East Coast
MSNBC.com is seeking a Deputy Editor, East Coast. From a base at NBC world headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Center in New York City, this news executive will lead the No. 1 news site's East Coast operations in New York, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.. This editor will be the Web site's key liaison for NBC News in New York, working to maximize the online synergy among all the NBC properties; supervise a multimedia content team that will collaborate with NBC; supervise News video operations for the company; supervise the NBC show sections; work as part of the key deputy-editor team that leads and strategizes content and innovative practices across the editorial department.

Candidates should have a minimum of eight years of journalism experience in Web, TV or print (background in more than one medium is a plus); proven multiteam management experience; proven understanding of current Web video trends; knowledge of TV News culture.

Editor, Cable
MSNBC.com is looking for a Web editor to produce and publish Web content for the MSNBC TV section on the MSNBC.com site. The editor will be responsible for creating, editing and publishing content from all MSNBC Cable news shows, including blogs. This position will work closely with other Web and TV producers, with design, media and interactive departments and with editors in other sections, in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

Requires 2-4 years journalism experience.  Fluent with news judgment and story selection. Must have strong copy editing, headline writing, story construction and writing skills, as well as experience packaging stories for the Web audience.  Knowledge of television production process and MSNBC Cable shows is helpful. BA/BS degree, or equivalent experience required. Position is based in Secaucus, NJ. Must be able to work a 1pm ET to 9pm ET shift.

Group Manager
Are you interested in solving hard problems and utilizing your creative nature in a fast paced environment?  If the answer is yes, MSNBC.com is looking for a seasoned Group Manager to lead a team of developers, program managers and testers who will deliver new and exciting projects within our Site Development team.  Strategically, this team is forward facing and focused on breaking new ground on a regular basis by delivering and implementing innovative technology solutions on the top rated internet news site in the world. You will own your own product roadmap and will work directly with our Marketing and Sales teams to understand our customer requirements.

We are looking for a very strong people leader who understands how to balance the fast paced nature of the business with the needs of the team.  You must be an excellent communicator and excel at working cross-group.  You should have experience building strong teams with exceptionally high productivity; have demonstrated ability to think strategically as well as tactically about the technology and business.  You must have strong relationship building skills and have a history of delivering projects on schedule.  In addition, be able to develop and articulate a strong vision and inspire others to achieve it.

BA/BS in related field required or equivalent with solid technical and PM or management experience.  The ideal candidate should have at least 8 years of combined software development and/or program management experience.  4+ years people management experience required.

Software Development Engineer In Test

If the answer is yes, MSNBC.com is looking for a great SDET who will work with a team of developers, program managers and testers to deliver new and exciting projects within our Site Development team. Strategically, this team is forward facing and focused on breaking new ground on a regular basis by delivering and implementing innovative technology solutions on the top rated internet news site in the world.

Primary responsibility is to assure quality projects and processes in an n-tier environment designed and developed by peer Program Management and Development teams.  This includes reviewing functional and design specifications, creating test strategy documentation, articulating and implementing test cases, identifying and managing defects, working closely with developers to analyze and debug assorted code (C#, Jscript, ASP.NET, XML/XSL, etc.), driving broad testing efforts such as performance or security testing, developing automated tools / test code where needed and managing signoff criteria and product development process improvements. 

The successful candidates must show strong aptitude for testing / familiarity with web product development, good communications and technical skills, and collaboration.  Position requires working knowledge of web and XML technologies such as HTML/DHTML/CSS, C#, SQL, IIS, multiple browser types and configurations, XML/XSL/XSLT, scripting languages (ASP, VBScript, Jscript) with fluency in one programming language.  A minimum of a BS degree in computer science or related program and two years experience in a software development related field required.

Interactive Editor
The No. 1 news site on the Web is seeking an interactive journalist experienced in telling stories through innovation with user interface design, expert-level Flash capabilities, sophisticated graphic design, and photo/video/audio editing expertise. Work directly with the Web's most experienced writers, editors, media producers and designers to create engaging, interactive and information-packed applications for all sections of the site

The most successful candidates will have 2+ years experience with a top-tier online news organization and 2+ years of hands-on experience with Flash, Photoshop, HTML, XML, CSS and other web technologies. Experience in broadcast or print a plus. Require an advanced knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Flash ActionScript; usability and user interface design; expert-level Flash and Photoshop user; experience with content management systems; demonstrated news judgment; multi-tasking; teamwork. May be required to work weekends or extended shifts.
