George Clooney Bashing On FOX

Mon 10:39 PM

This morning George Clooney was insulted and demeaned on Fox & Friends probably in anticipation of the Golden Globes tonight. Now that he won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in Syriana and Jack Abramoff popped up in his acceptance speech, will the F&F; trio go after him again tommorrow? 1/16/06

Rich Lowry Misrepresents USA Today Article to Cite Progress in Iraq

Mon 07:21 PM

Rich Lowry, editor of the National Review, incorrectly quoted an article from USA Today in an attempt to argue that the US backed invasion of Iraq has been improving over the past year, while appearing on Dayside today.

Ann Coulter as Financial Guru?

Mon 05:00 PM

Whoooee. Neil Cavuto just promoted tomorrow's show: Ann Coulter will be on to talk about Dow 11,000.

Comment: In order to make Your World w/ Neil Cavuto look like a "business news" program, Cavuto regularly twists and turns and exaggerates and misrepresents political guests and segments as being about "business" when they are nothing of the kind. To promote Ann Coulter as a guest who will allegedly talk about "Dow 11,000" is so absurd it's hilarious. She'll talk about nothing of the sort. Coulter is a professional hatemonger and tomorrow she'll be nasty and hateful and she will spend her time bashing one or more Democrats. Come on Neil. I know you think we're really stupid out here in TV Land but this time your spin as spun out of control.

Rep. Shadegg apparently the annointed one to replace Tom DeLay

Mon 04:58 PM

We got a heads-up on Fox News Sunday January 8th from White House insider, PNAC Chairman and Fox News regular Bill Kristol about who may be the replacement for Tom DeLay. One choice, AZ Rep. John Shadegg, seems to be receiving a boost from FOX.

Where Breaking News Changes Everything.......

Mon 04:50 PM

A few months back I reported on two stories about Studio B promising stories, then not showing them at all during the show. Shortly after this Studio B changed their opening statement to include the words, 'where breaking news changes everything.'

Fair enough, but today they said two stories were coming up, one was on the beating of the homeless and Smith was going to have two attorney's on to speak about it. The other one was President Bush's speech on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Short on time? Only one way to solve this problem.

What Would Jesus Buy?

Mon 12:22 PM

Where would Jesus invest? It is not a question that often comes up among Wall Street types, but Neil Cavuto raised it on "Cavuto on Business" on Saturday (January 14, 2006). Some of the answers displayed an appalling lack of ethics.

Grapevine Whine - A Foul Foursome

Mon 04:44 AM

Friday night (1/13) on Special Report, Jim Angle substituted as usual for anchor Brit Hume. The Grapevine segment included 4 items targeting the usual suspects: liberals, democrats (small "d") as well as Democrats (capital "D"), "political correctness" (as defined by Fox) & of course anyone critical of the Bush administration. For good measure, Angle threw a little Friday-the-13th humor into the mix. Yes, it was another fine example of the Distractorama Machine (TM) in full swing.

PNAC architect Bill Kristol says it is US responsibility "to do what's necessary" in Iran

Mon 01:38 AM

Chris Wallace hosted the panel consisting of Brit Hume, Bill Kristol, Mara Liasson and Juan Williams on Fox News Sunday yesterday 1/15/06. The second segment focused on the "threat" posed by Iran's restarting of their nuclear energy program, which is being portrayed by FOX as a nuclear weapons program. PNAC Chairman Bill Kristol, often a bellwether for Bush administration policies, was adamant that the US reserve a military option for dealing with the perceived threat, brushing off Juan Williams comment that Israel could be the one to take any action when and if necessary.

Another example of FOX News’ Fairness and Balance: A Discussion of a Lawsuit from One Side Only

Mon 01:21 AM

Friday night’s (1/13/06) Hannity & Colmes included a discussion of a Christian high school’s lawsuit against the University of California for not giving credit for some courses with a Christian perspective. FOX News never seems to miss an opportunity to crusade for more Christianity for everyone, everywhere. Friday night’s effort was to present the lawsuit from the perspective of one side, only. Guess which side?

Col. David Hunt: Iran "probably has, very close to, a nuclear weapon"

Sun 12:30 AM

John Gibson had Col. David Hunt as a guest on The Big Story Thursday 1/12/06. The colonel is of the opinion that Iran is close to a nuclear weapon and while the US military ground forces not currently able to conduct an invasion, our naval, marine, and air forces could do terrible damage from the air, crippling the alleged program. He brought up the "D word - draft" as what would be necessary to increase the ground troops to sufficient levels to take on another country.

O'Reilly Threatens Vermont

Does Wal-Mart Finally Get It?

Humanitarian Award For Rupert Murdoch

Sat 12:23 PM

Rupert Murdoch recieved an award from the Simon Wiesenthal Center in recognition of his support of Israel. The award was presented by Nicole Kidman.

comment: This news leaves me shocked, confused and disgusted. How can a man responsible for so many character assassinations be declared a humanitarian by a Jewish organization?

Democratic “Strategist” Michael Brown Plays Right Into The Republican Game Plan For Alito Confirmation. With Democracy In Danger, The Democrats Dither.

Sat 02:14 AM

Once again, the Republicans on Hannity & Colmes tried to make the Alito confirmation hearings all about the Democrats. Thanks to Democratic “Strategist” Michael Brown they largely succeeded Friday night (1/13/06). Brown is another one of those nice, likeable FOX News Democrats whose major strategy seems to be to flatter Republicans and make them look good. At no time did Brown seem to be at all concerned that the Senate might be on the verge of confirming a Supreme Court judge likely to move the court significantly to the right and toward greater executive-branch power.

Dick Morris Gives Yet Another “Fair And Balanced” Assessment Of Hillary Clinton.

Sat 12:14 AM

It’s kind of like calling on Ambassador Joe Wilson to provide an analysis of George Bush but “real journalism, fair and balanced” FOX News trots out Dick Morris at the drop of a Hillary rumor or innuendo. Thursday night’s (1/12/06) excuse was the fact that Hillary had been at the same function as Bush-basher Harry Belafonte. That made it something of a grand slam for Morris and FOX News – enabling them to sweep up Hillary, Harry and “major enemy of the United States” Hugo Chavez in one liberal-demonizing swoop. Don’t tell me the old “we report, you decide” network didn’t plan it that way. The fact that Morris’ latest book is published by a sister company to FOX News, was just icing on the cake.

Misleading in Plain Sight: The Difference Between Fox's Website and its TV Broadcast

Fri 07:03 PM

I've often noticed a drastic difference between the schedule of Fox's "premiere business news" program, Your World w/Neil Cavuto, as presented on Fox's website and the content of the show presented on television. Below is an example of what I mean. I'm left wondering: Why is Fox's web presence so different from its television presence? Why is what it puts in writing on the web so sanitized? Is Fox afraid of something?

Bill O'Reilly & Sen. Lindsey Graham - Part II: "Cruel, inhumane, degrading treatment is different than torture."

After the commercial break during yesterday's O'Reilly Factor, Bill O'Reilly quizzed Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina about torture, which is one of O'Reilly's favorite obsessions, especially water boarding.
