Chinua Achebe Lecture

Chinua Achebe, the Charles Stevenson Professor of Languages and Literature at Bard College, is author of five novels, including the critically acclaimed Things Fall Apart, which has sold over two millions copies in the United States since its publication in 1958. Things Fall Apart, hailed for its revealing portrait of pre-colonial African culture, has been translated into more than 50 languages worldwide. This lecture was presented at the University of Pennsylvania, as part of Penn's Center for Africana Studies' "Back to the Future of Civilization" 30th anniversary celebration.
