Terms and Conditions

NFL Charities is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1973 by the member clubs of the National Football League to enable the teams to collectively support charitable and worthwhile causes on a national level. This Privacy Policy is applicable to the NFL Charities' Web site, Jointheteam.com (the "Site"). NFL Charities (collectively, "we" or the "NFL Charities") respects the privacy of you and other users of NFL Charities' goods and services and our Site ("you"). In addition to reviewing this Privacy Policy, please read our User Agreement. Your use of the Site constitutes agreement to its terms and conditions.

This Privacy Policy may be modified from time to time; the date of the most recent revisions will appear on this page, so check back often. Your continued access of the Site will constitute your acceptance of any changes or revisions to the Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect information from you and how we use such information.

THE TYPE OF INFORMATION JOINTHETEAM.COM COLLECTS

We only collect personally identifiable information about you when you specifically and knowingly provide such information voluntarily. For example, we may gather personally identifiable information about you (including, but not limited to, your name, age/birthdate, street address, telephone number, e-mail address) during the following interactions: when you nominate someone for the NFLŽ Community Quarterback Award; when you register on the Site; when you request materials from NFL Charities on the Site; and in connection with other content submissions and suggestions.

When you nominate yourself or someone else (the "Nominee") for the NFLŽ Community Quarterback Award, you will be asked to provide the following personally identifiable information about yourself or the Nominee: first and last name; e-mail address; age; home telephone number; street address; charitable organization with which the Nominee volunteers; name, address and telephone number of a contact at the charitable organization; and the NFL team located where the Nominee lives.

From time to time, NFL Charities also may ask you for optional information, such as your gender or occupation.

HOW JOINTHETEAM.COM USES INFORMATION PROVIDED BY YOU

We use the personally identifiable information we collect on our Site primarily to provide our users with the services they request.

For example, when you provide information in connection with nominating a Nominee for the NFLŽ Community Quarterback Award, the NFL may use the e-mail addresses you have provided (to send you or the Nominee a confirmation notice) and the street addresses you have provided to notify you or the Nominee if you or she or he has won the Award.

We also may use personally identifiable information you have provided to communicate with you or the Nominee about new features on our Site or new products or services we may offer, or to improve our services to match with your or the Nominee's interests.

At the time you submit information, we may ask you whether you and your Nominee would like the opportunity to review offers or opportunities which we believe may be of interest. We will not, however, sell or otherwise transfer personally identifiable information about you or the Nominee to our partners without your approval at the time we collect such information. If you change your mind regarding your preferences for the use of your or your Nominee's personally identifiable information after we have collected it, you can contact NFL Charities at any time at jointheteam@nfl.com to notify us of your change in preference or follow the unsubscribe instructions that may be included in an e-mail communication. We will also provide "unsubscribe" instructions to any Nominee to whom we send an e-mail communication. Please note that if you or your Nominee later decides to opt-out of receiving promotional information or other communications, changes in preference will only affect future contacts; if information has already been provided to third parties they may continue to use it. Even if you (or your Nominee) chooses to opt-out, we reserve the right to contact you (or your Nominee) as necessary in our sole discretion regarding NFL Charities, any request for services or products from NFL Charities, changes to this Privacy Policy, and any other matters that may be relevant to the information we collect.

We also allow access to our database by third parties that provide us with services, such as technical maintenance, hosting, and developing applications for our Site, but only for the purpose of and to the extent necessary to provide those services (collectively, "Outside Contractors"). These Outside Contractors may sometimes have limited access to information collected from you in the course of providing services to us. Access to your or your Nominee's personally identifiable information by these contractors is limited to the information reasonably necessary in order for the Outside Contractors to perform their limited function for us. We also require that these contractors (i) protect the privacy of all personally identifiable information consistent with this Privacy Policy, and (ii) not use or disclose any personally identifiable information for any purpose other than providing us with products or services for which we contracted.

We also may disclose personally identifiable information in special cases, when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against you or someone else who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) NFL Charities' rights or property, other users of our Site, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. We also may disclose personally identifiable information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.

We reserve the right to transfer information to a third party in the event of a sale, merger or other transfer of all or substantially all of the assets of NFL Charities, provided that the third party agrees to adhere to the terms of this Privacy Policy. We will notify users of any such transfer through notice on our Site and through email.

NON-PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

You also should be aware that non-personally identifiable information and data may be automatically collected from you when you are visiting our Site through the standard operation of our Internet servers. Such non-personally identifiable information may include your Internet Protocol ("IP") addresses, browser types, domain names, and other anonymous statistical data involving the use of our Site.

Your IP address is usually associated with the place from which you enter the Internet, such as your Internet Service Provider, your company or your university. We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, gather broad demographic information, and administer our Site.

We also collect non-personally identifiable information on our Site through the use of "cookies." Cookies are small text files that a website can use to recognize repeat users, facilitate the user's ongoing access to and use of a website, allow the site to track usage behavior and compile aggregate data that will allow content improvements and targeted advertising. Cookies are not programs that reside on a user's system or damage files. Cookies work by assigning a unique number to the user that has no meaning outside the assigning site. If you do not want information collected from you through our use of cookies, there is a simple procedure in most browsers that allows you to deny or accept the cookie feature; however, you should note that some portions of our Site may not function properly without cookies.

HOW IS NON-PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION USED?

We may use such aggregated, anonymous data about our users as a group (also known as non-personally identifiable information) for any purpose, including to perform statistical analyses of user behavior and characteristics. We use this information to measure interest in and use of the various areas of the Site. We provide such non-personally identifiable information to third parties, but only in an aggregated form.

IS THE PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION COLLECTED SECURE?

We want all personally identifiable information we have collected to remain as secure as possible. We use commercially reasonable security measures to protect your and your Nominee's personally identifiable information, including, but not limited to, physical security and restricted access to information. We secure the personally identifiable information we have collected on servers located in controlled environments that adopt commercially reasonable security measures. Only employees or Outside Contractors who need access to your information to perform a specific task or function are granted access to such information. In addition, all NFL Charities employees must abide by this Privacy Policy. Any NFL Charities employee who violates this Privacy Policy is subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Notwithstanding the above commitments to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse or alteration by third parties, you should be aware that there is always some risk involved in transmitting information over the Internet. Additionally, there also is some risk our security systems could be circumvented or breached. As a result, although we strive to protect your and a Nominee's information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security and privacy of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk.

DOES THIS PRIVACY POLICY APPLY TO THIRD PARTIES?

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the collection and use of any information gathered through any third-party web site, including any Site to which the Site links. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site to understand what policies apply to their respective collection and use of information.

With regard to Outside Contractors, as stated above, we require such parties to protect the privacy of your personally identifiable information consistent with this Privacy Policy.

With regard to third-party partners with whom we share our mailing lists and other personally identifiable information about you and Nominees, we require such parties to protect the privacy of all such personally identifiable information by making only limited use of our mailing list consistent with our contracts with such parties.

HOW CAN YOU UPDATE, CORRECT OR DELETE PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION?

Upon request, we will use reasonable efforts to allow you to access to update or correct personally identifiable information that you have submitted if you state that the information is erroneous, to the extent that doing so will not compromise our security or other interests. Also, upon your request, we will use reasonable efforts to remove from our database personally identifiable information you have provided; however, please be advised that it may not be possible to delete all such information without some residual information remaining due to back-ups and records of deletions and that we are unable to delete information from third-party databases.
