A total of 57 players with NFL Europe experience will enter the playoff race as the road to Super Bowl XL turns into the post-season. The Denver Broncos have a team-high 13 players who have played in NFLEL, while Carolina starting quarterback Jake Delhomme spent two seasons in Europe - with Amsterdam and Frankfurt.

Delhomme leads his Panthers into the Meadowlands to play against the New York Giants on Sunday January 8 at 1:00pm ET. The Pro Bowl quarterback led his team to Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston in February 2004, narrowly missing out on the Championship when Adam Vinatieri (Amsterdam 1995) booted the New England Patriots to victory in a thrilling game.

Vinatieri and the Patriots return to the playoffs looking to defend the crown they have worn in three of the past four seasons. They begin their playoff season by hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars at 8:00pm ET on Saturday January 7. Jaguars defensive end Paul Spicer, who played for the Frankfurt Galaxy in 2001 - will look to add to his total of 7.5 sacks in the game.

Both Washington and Tampa Bay will enter their game on Saturday January 7 at 4:30pm ET featuring five NFLEL players on their rosters. Division rivals Pittsburgh and Cincinnati meet for the third time this season having split their series to this point. Both teams have three former NFL Europe stars on their roster.

Indianapolis, Denver, Seattle and Chicago have a bye through the first round of the playoffs, and will each host games on Saturday or Sunday January 14-15.
