Two former NFL Europe League quarterbacks, and former NFL teammates
squared off in an NFC South division showdown when Carolina’s Jake
Delhomme (Amsterdam/ Frankfurt 1997 / 1998) and Todd Bouman (Barcelona
1999) went head to head in Week 15.
Delhomme outdid his former Saints teammate, running for a two-yard score
in the second quarter and tossing a touchdown to Steve Smith in the
third to give his team a 27-10 victory over New Orleans. The former
Frankfurt World Bowl winner completed 13 of his 21 pass attempts for 176
yards.
"Jake's been excellent for us," Carolina coach John Fox said. "He's got
us to where we're now 10-4. Jake's had a whole lot to do with that."
Bouman, making his first NFL start in place of Aaron Brooks, completed
half of his 34 passes for 176 yards, and threw a touchdown strike to
Donte Stallworth. However, the former Dragon was picked off four times
by the marauding Panthers defense.

The victory, combined with losses for NFC south rivals Tampa Bay (28-0
to New England) and Atlanta (16-3 to Chicago) handed the Panthers sole
possession of the NFC South lead.
There was misery for the other pair of former NFL Europe starting
quarterback in Week 15, however. Arizona’s Kurt Warner (Amsterdam 1997)
injured his knee in the Cardinals 30-19 loss against the Houston Texans.
Warner threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Anquan Boldin early in the
second quarter and walked off the field. He was sacked twice on
Arizona's first series, and Arizona coach Dennis Green said Warner
injured the medial collateral ligament in his right knee on one of those
sacks.
Brad Johnson (London 1995) saw his six game unbeaten streak come to an
abrupt end on Sunday at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The
Vikings had won every game since the former London Monarch replaced
Daunte Culpepper at quarterback, but the Steelers intercepted Johnson
twice in the redzone and sacked him for a safety in a 18-3 victory.
Johnson went 16-for-30 for 143 yards, including a woeful 2-for-9, 9-yard
output after halftime.
