'''MTM Enterprises''' was an independent production company established in 1969 by Mary_Tyler_Moore and her then-husband Grant_Tinker to produce ''The_Mary_Tyler_Moore_Show'' for CBS. It was sold in 1990 to TVS Entertainment plc, which was acquired by Pat Robertson's International_Family_Entertainment in 1993. IFE along with MTM was sold to Rupert Murdoch's News_Corporation in 1996. MTM ceased operations and was folded into 20th_Century_Fox Television in 1998. For many years, MTM, with CBS, co-owned the CBS_Studio_Center in Studio_City, California, where a majority of their programs were filmed and videotaped. The company is mostly remembered for its mascot, Mimsie_the_Cat, who was an obvious parody of MGM's Leo_the_Lion. == Programs == Among its various productions included: * ''The_Mary_Tyler_Moore_Show'' (1970-77) * ''The_Bob_Newhart_Show'' (1972-78) * ''Rhoda'' (1974-78) * ''Phyllis'' (1975-77) * ''Lou_Grant'' (1977-82) * ''The_Betty_White_Show'' (1977-78) * ''The_White_Shadow'' (1978-81) * ''WKRP_in_Cincinnati'' (1978-82) * ''Hill_Street_Blues'' (1981-87) * ''Remington_Steele'' (1982-87) * ''St._Elsewhere'' (1982-88) * ''Newhart'' (1982-90) ==External links== * {{imdb company|id=0038822|company=MTM Enterprises}} {{corp-stub}} Category:Entertainment_companies_of_the_United_States
