However he is best known for creating and writing for the television Sitcoms, ''The_Munsters'', ''The_Mary_Tyler_Moore_Show'', and ''My_Mother_the_Car''. ==Biography== After his stint in writing for ''The Bullwinkle Show'', Burns formed a partnership with Chris Hayward and they created the series ''The Munsters'' and ''My Mother the Car''. The last project between Hayward and Burns would be story editors for the sitcom, ''Get_Smart''. In 1969, Burns began a partnership with James_L._Brooks after being impressed with the Television_pilot for Brooks' show, ''Room_222''. Burns joined the ''Room 222'' writing staff and later produce the series. After ''Room 222'', television executive Grant_Tinker hired Brooks and Burns to develop a television series for CBS starring Mary_Tyler_Moore. In 1970, ''The Mary Tyler Moore Show'' premiered and became a critically acclaimed series. ''The Mary Tyler Moore Show'' spawned spin off series such as ''Lou_Grant'' and ''Rhoda''. Burns has also done screenwriting for movies.
