Cancer Advisory Panel for
Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAPCAM)

Notice
July 2003

The charter for CAPCAM has been rescinded as part of the Department of Health and Human Services' efforts to reduce the number of chartered advisory committees.

NCCAM has been and remains committed to exploring promising alternative approaches to the treatment of cancer in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute. At the June 2, 2003, meeting of the National Advisory Council for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NACCAM), NCCAM presented a plan to develop a Cancer Working Group that will continue to focus attention on promising alternative approaches to treating cancer. NACCAM members supported this plan and NCCAM will begin to establish a working group composed of NACCAM members, basic and clinical investigators, practitioners, clinicians, and a patient advocate.
