Gavin Conway, Editor
During a 13-year career as a motoring writer, Gavin has been deputy editor of Autocar magazine, editor of Classic & Sportscar and a regular contributor to a whole raft of glossy titles, as well as The Sunday Times. Before coming to the UK, Gavin was a TV news field producer, a job that involved being shot at occasionally, running into burning buildings and driving a Chevrolet Caprice news wagon in an entirely inappropriate fashion.

Farah AlKhalisi, Deputy Editor
A founder member of the 4Car team, Farah started out in the motoring media at Emap magazines, researching and writing for consumer titles such as Parker's Car Chooser. She has a strange fetish for estate cars, station wagons and vans and has owned a variety of revolting old bangers and hopeless cases. She has recently traded in a much-loved Saab 900 Turbo for a load-lugging Citroen Xantia, but is hanging out for a W124-series Mercedes-Benz TE. Or a VW Transporter.

Matt Prior, Road Test Editor
Matt landed his first job in motoring journalism as an Automotive Engineering graduate in 1997, later joining the 4Car team in June 2000. During his time in the business, he's tested more than 1000 cars in the line of duty, has briefly owned a Westfield, Caterham and Ducati and spent a season racing a two-stroke go-kart. Away from work, Matt can often be found playing pool or watching Southampton football club. Unfortunately, he's better at the latter.

Andrew Pipes, Managing Editor
Before joining 4Car, Andrew worked for What Car? as a sub-editor, and for various other mags and rags writing and researching. He is an escapee from America's SUV-stricken highways, where he felt increasingly crushed in his 1987 Honda Civic. He is feeling much more relaxed now.

Tom Bird, Road Tester
After spending two years in the IT industry working for a major insurance player Tom decided to change tack and fulfill his dream to work within motor journalism. He is a keen Peugeot enthusiast and has a rather tired 1.6 205 GTi sitting at home waiting for the summer sun.

John Simister, Contributor
John Simister began road-testing on Motor magazine, and wrote its final word before it was absorbed by Autocar. Passing through What Car?, Carweek and Car magazine en route, he's now a freelance journalist and a member of the European Car of the Year jury.
