Turn-based strategy games are a hard sell, even if the PC market is more attuned to it. Triumph Studios has been developing Age of Wonders titles for the past several years, and found welcome success. Teaming again with Gathering of Developers, Triumph Studios is preparing Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic for a release in July, where an attack on the Ancient Races has begun as a dark, unknown evil stirs in the depths.

"With each installment we have aspired to appeal to both die-hard fantasy fans and attract new players to the genre," said Lennart Sas, Lead Designer on the project at Triumph Studios. "We have paid particular attention to the interface to ensure that the now almost limitless modification options are easily accessible and enable newcomers to get straight into the action."

From the newest installment, gamers can expect to find a dangerous “Shadow World” to change up the game’s gameplay rules, a map generator and an enhanced and upgraded campaign editor.
