Peter Maxwell Davies Antarctic Symphony

In 1997, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies travelled to Antarctica as a guest of the British Antarctic Survey. This Saturday on BBC Four, watch an unconventional multi-media performance of the symphony that he wrote inspired by his trip.

A Stradivarious RAM in fundraising campaign
The Royal Academy of Music has launched a campaign to keep its famed 'Viotti' Stradivarius, which Giovanni Battista Viotti played in 1782. Last week, for the first time in 200 years, the violin was played before a public audience.
Rachmaninov Rachmaninov legal battle to go on
The High Court has refused to halt a legal battle over the ownership of an original Rachmaninov manuscript, due to be auctioned last December. The score for his Second Symphony was expected to fetch around half a million.
