The Hudson's Bay Company Galleries & Heritage Tourism Program strives to forge a close connection to Canadians by offering a variety of programs and services. We operate three store-based galleries, in Montreal, Toronto and Victoria.

In their heyday - from the 1920s to the 1950s - large downtown department stores served as the community centres of their day. Many had auditoriums or other large spaces that were the setting for public lectures, art exhibits, concerts and other special events. Customers became used to experiencing activities such as these on the premises of the major retailers. It is this tradition which Hbc is reviving with the opening of its in-store Galleries.

Hudson's Bay Company's history and heritage allows us to differentiate ourselves from our competition in a unique and meaningful way. And our in-store Galleries provide us a venue for displays and exhibits that reflect this, as well as for onsite educational and special events.
