The Oppenheimer Affair
J. Robert Oppenheimer, known as the father of the atomic bomb, enjoyed both the heights of worldwide fame and the depths of despair when the Atomic Energy Commission voted to strip him of his security clearance.


Cuban Missile Crisis
In October 1962, the United States and the Soviet Union came to the brink of nuclear war over the placement of Soviet Medium Range Ballistic Missiles in Cuba.
