Hbc School Hamper
The Hbc School Hamper is a hands-on, object-oriented hamper containing
items that would be have been carried by an actual Hbc trader. Designed
to provide hands-on experience to enhance in-class teaching of the fur
trade, each hamper comes with a beaver pelt, glass beads, trade blanket,
capote, etc., along with a Teacher's Guide and is suitable for a class
size of 25-30 students. The School Hamper rents for $100.00 and is available

Genuine Hbc Capote
The capote is a handmade wrap coat made from an authentic Hbc point blanket. Created by the Métis
peoples, the capote was adopted by the First Nations as well as Hbc's
own employees. Warm and water-repellent, this functional garment is a
part of Canadian history. Schools can rent a capote for $70.00 and is
available for a period of up to one month. Order a capote.
