Lesli Wood (aka Roxy) returns to her rock bad self with “These Things We Say.” Last years “An Afternoon in Central Park” turned heads everywhere making this album highly anticipated by many. At the production helm this time around is Martin Feveyear (Mudhoney, Queens of the Stone Age). So far I’m hooked…

“These Things We Say “is more of the anthemic power pop this group is known for. Imagine if a band like The Sounds (sans the keyboards) or Sahara Hotnights actually had something to say and you are at least looking in the right direction. This album is hook heavy and very, very, very raw. Songs like “Small Change” and the title track are hook heavy pop punk gems that will surely please any fan of the pogo dance. Ms. Led is perhaps one of the best at spontaneous chorusing.

When all is said and done though, this album sadly left me wanting more. I had hoped for better production on “These Things We Say” and I don’t think that really happened. The band's “loose” sound hasn’t evolved at all in my opinion. It’s not that I don’t like it or that it’s bad, it’s just that it seems like they have written a great batch of songs and have delivered them with a lot of passion; however when it comes time to put them all together it just doesn’t fit exactly right. I like this album — I had hoped to love it.
